This small group, educative half-day conference will feature four local experts and a first-hand testimony on successful complimentary and non-pharmaceutical treatments for children and young adults with ADD/ADHD.
Presenters & Topics will include:
1. First hand testimonial of successful non-pharmaceutical treatment of ADHD in an 8-year-old: Kerri Yates, CPCC.
2. Effective nutrition and food intolerance mitigation for ADD/ADHD. Also, the risks associated with long-term medication: Dr. Caroline Smythe, MD. Dr. Smythe is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is certified in Functional Medicine from the Institute for Functional Medicine.
3. Neurofeedback for ADHD/ADD: Network Neurology (West Ashley). Network Neurology has been successfully treating children with ADD/ADHD and other neurological disorders under the direction of Pediatric Neurologist Robert P. Turner, MD, MSCR, QEEQD. He is also a former practitioner and teacher (16 years) at MUSC.
4. Cognitive and Play Therapy to treat ADD/ADHD 5. Ropes Courses for focus enhancement and building confidence: Wild Blue Ropes.
The conference will be limited to 14 participants.
